Batman was another favorite comic character that I drew frequently. Lot's of challeneges to getting the right 'look' for Batman, especially since there's been so many popular and unpopular versions.

Batman leaping / flying / hopping over Gotham City is the classic way to depict him.
Especially with the complicated architecture below, and moody lighting above.

Considering the idea of extremes, my immediate idea was of depicting two opposing ends of something. Then, here comes my comic background 'Batman and The Joker' done in an extreme, perspective bending sort of way.
Also, you may note that they seem 'joined' at the waist - visual metaphor of being two extreme opposing ends of the same thing.
