In the last of my first and only 'Tree on a hill' series, a tree, against a fall sky, surrounded by fallen leaves.
It certainly took much longer to draw the leaves than I thought, which explains why it's the last of my only 'tree on a hill' series.

Oddly, about half a decade before I had ever seen any sort of 'tribal tattoos' I did a handful of drawings like this.
For those of you who can't tell, this is a dragon.
My favorite art form is pen and ink, for both working in and viewing. I enjoy and get blown away by other styles, but the allure for the pen and ink is that it can't easily be made 'real'. Pen and Ink art is hard lines, no smooth gradients, only cross hatching, and no spectrum. The weight of your lines has to be appealing as well as the energy in the strokes.

A drawing from right before the turn of the century. Some classic fantasy themes. I remember being very pleased with how it turned out.
...
It's only now, about 7 years later, that I realize I drew the Dragon without the wings.
No wonder the elves don't trust them!

Charles E. Grapewin (December 20, 1869, Xenia, Ohio – February 2, 1956, Corona, California) was an American vaudeville performer, and a stage and film actor.
Grapewin first worked as an aerialist and trapeze artist in a traveling circus before turning to acting. He performed on stage with various stock companies and wrote stage plays as a vehicle for him to star in.
He married actress Anna Chance and they remained a devoted couple until her death some 47 years later. Grapewin began in silent films around the turn of the century and almost forty years later appeared as Uncle Henry in the movie The Wizard of Oz. During his long career, Grapewin appeared in more than one hundred films, one of them being Tobacco Road (1941), a version of the hit Broadway play and novel that was supposedly played for laughs.
I added the squirrel. They never knew each other.

I didn't do the background dots in this one.
Since the two characters seem like they would fit right in in a newspaper office, I used a half-tone filter on a gradient for the background to add a little 'newspaper comic' feel to it.

She's just cooking up something wicked in her kitchen.
Obviously a culinary artiste, and does not appreciate being gawked at while working.
A friend asked if this was the witch from Hansel and Gretel, it was never my intention, but if it were, one must ask.... If Hansel is in the cage on the counter, where is Gretel now?

Definite phone doodle. I think I was talking to my mom at the time.
Very abstract sort of creature. The sort of thing no focused mind would come up with.
I think we all agree, that it's apparent, that this guy has just seen a small dog relieve itself on his shoe.
