No doubt, this robot is as smelly as it is smiley, from early 2000.
One thing that strikes me when I look at it now, is the total disregard for practicality in this picture. These days, I still have a strong comic influence in my art, but I tend to emphasis a better sense of realism. Looking at this picture, I can see I was basically indulging in the shapes & patterns that I liked to draw.

Originally I did most of the figure of Hellboy in Sept. It was one of the first things I did in a sketchbook, and usually the first few pictures never impress me. Basically I need to work in the sketchbook, get it going in my vibe, become part of me, have my scent.
So in January, I was scanning older pictures, and added some more detailing and the idea of a gigantic 7 finger hand springing up behind him!
Still not too enthused about the picture, but I love the hand idea!

.... It is a horned skull, but I don't know who Elliot is.
Could be a good tattoo...
Maybe it's Elliot's tattoo?

Again, with Wolverine. It's good to break out of the mold, and do something not quite the norm.

Since architecture is one of my interests, the city roof top landscapes that comics provided were quite appealing.
