Lighting, form and Monsterous Distortion were a frequent subject matter in the summer of 1998 after reading a bunch of Mike Mignola comics, some Grendel series, and a slew of comics purchased for about 25 cents so I could 'study' the art.

Another 'Scribble Pattern'
When doing something like this, it's interesting to see how the lines vary, and whether you can tell the stuff drawn at the beginning compared to the last few lines, since obviously I'd gotten tired or bored at various points, and needed to change up the pattern I was doing.

A cheunk knight figure, done in a mechanized sort of 'Steampunk' style.
It turns out that with paper rough enough, shading with crayon gives a really good rough metal texture.

I lucked out, because someone found this picture online and asked me if they could use it for the cover of a book they were publishing for their 14 year old son.
I wasn't completely impressed with this image so I offered to draw them a new picture.
