Top left, pen study of a hand with a pen.
Bottom left, Pencil drawing of the poster for "Black Metal" asking:
"What do you do if every bone in your body tells you: You are going to die."
Kinda wordy, but the movie is based around mutation and genetic virus crap.
WOrking out plans to build a foam (very Muppet like) head mask and decorate it up.
I did make the mask, and it was more orgelike than that drawing. I didn\'t do the jacket, but if I had, I would have looked a lot like a Goomba from the Live Action Mario Brothers MOvie with Bob Hoskins.
You remember that right?
For a while there, I was thinking I'd develop a way to do all my thumbnails through Photoshop so I could achieve three things:
(1) Work through ideas more quickly
(2) Improve quality of my page
(3) Improve speed.
I haven't thought / worked with the idea much over the last 8 years, but if I ever had a regular stint working on comics / illustration, I would definitely use the fluidity of doing things digitally to try out as many ideas as possible to land on the best possible.
I was back home and with much enthusasm, Mom said "Hey! Check it out - I found an old sketchbook of yours!"
Hearing the enthusiasm I thought she had found an old Million Dollars of mine. Too bad I haven't had a million yet. YET.
The character on the left must have been drawn about 5 years ago. A few days ago as I was looking at it's odd proportions, cross hatching, pose and design, I decided to see how I'd do it now.
The one on the right might not seem too different to you, but there's a bunch of small techniques that I'm happy to have developed.
...Now to develope that million dollar techinque...
Gesture of Batman landing a jump from a very tall building (approximately 6 stories in forced perspective terms)
And, as an indicator I got bored, Optimus Prime is hanging out on the left hand side.
